Overview

Naturalized Brazilian men, aged between 18 and 45, must enlist in the Military Service. This requirement also applies to those who choose Brazilian nationality. Enlistment is a mandatory act that demonstrates commitment to civic duties and national defense, being one of the conditions for the full exercise of citizenship in Brazil. Registration must be carried out at the Military Service Board closest to your residence within 30 days of obtaining naturalization or opting for Brazilian nationality. However, for naturalized individuals, there is exemption from incorporation in times of peace, unless the interested party expresses the desire to serve voluntarily.
