Overview

Under the new Spanish law on obtaining citizenship, more people have the right to apply for Spanish citizenship in the next 2 years. Previously, only grandchildren under 18 years of age could apply. With the new law, grandchildren of legal age can also. As well, the families of the victims of the Spanish Civil War and the military government that followed it benefit. The beneficiaries: - Children and grandchildren of legal age of Spanish citizens with original nationality, in general. - Children or grandchildren of those born in Spain who lost or renounced their nationality for ideological, political, belief or sexual and gender orientation reasons; - Children of Spanish women who, because they married foreigners before the 1978 Constitution, lost their nationality; - Spanish children of legal age with nationality recognized by the new or previous law. This law will only be in force until October 2024. The process must be started before this period ends. An immigration lawyer understands the importance of complying with immigration regulations and can help you navigate the process of obtaining the necessary documentation for your immigration journey.
