Overview
On this Women's Lawyer's Day, celebrated since 2016 at the initiative of the Federal Council of the OAB, we celebrate not only individual achievements, but also the legacy of women who paved the way in the legal profession, such as Myrthes Gomes de Campos, the first Brazilian woman to register as a lawyer in 1906, despite attempts to prevent her. This date is a tribute to all the women who, with courage and determination, have transformed the history of law in Brazil and the world. It is also an opportunity to reflect on the ongoing fight against gender inequality in the job market, for the recognition of equal working conditions and remuneration for women lawyers. It is necessary to vehemently combat any type of harassment or discrimination for a fairer and more inclusive legal environment.
